You might know that exciting feeling when you buy a new wetsuit that is followed by an instant disappointment the moment you get into the water and start surfing. There are three scenarios of what can happen during your first surf session with a new wetsuit.
PERFECTLY FITTING SRFACE WETSUIT
To avoid any disappointment, it's important to make sure your new SRFACE wetsuit (or accessories) fits properly before getting in the water. Use our Size Finder and measure yourself carefully before ordering your product. Need live assistance? Our experienced team of surfers is available 7 days per week on our live chat. Once your product is delivered, open the package and try it on right away. Watch our short video guide to learn how to put on your wetsuit safely, without damaging the material. Once you’re suited up, keep these tips in mind:
-
Snug but comfortable- Your SRFACE wetsuit and accessories should feel tight the first time you try them on and will loosen up a bit and adapt to your body after a couple of sessions. Air paddle and move around a bit. How does it feel?
-
Excess material- When standing still, there shouldn’t be large areas of loose neoprene. If you can create large air bubbles by grabbing hold of the material, the product might be too large. A little bit of excess material is normal.
-
Cuffs and neck- The cuffs around your wrists, ankles, and neck should feel snug to keep water out. They’ll also loosen slightly after a couple of sessions, so don’t worry if they feel tight at first.

SCENARIO 1 (SPOILER- WETSUIT TOO LOOSE)
You’re stoked. New wetsuit, good waves. But after your first duck dive, cold water flushes in. The suit felt fine at home, but now it’s too loose. Water keeps rushing in, and the extra neoprene bunches up when you paddle or pop up.
After a few frustrating wipeouts, you head back to the beach – cold, sore, and with a rash you didn’t feel until now. At the car, reality hits: your brand new wetsuit doesn’t fit, and you can’t return it because you’ve already surfed in it.

SCENARIO 2 (SPOILER- WETSUIT TOO TIGHT)
You show up at the beach stoked for your first session in your new wetsuit. But as soon as you hit the water, something feels off. The suit is just a bit too tight – especially around the chest and neck. Breathing becomes harder, your paddling is restricted, and when that perfect wave shows up, your delayed pop-up sends you flying.
You catch a few waves, but it never feels right. Back at your car, out of breath and frustrated, you realise: this wetsuit just doesn’t fit. And since you’ve already used it, you can’t return it.

SCENARIO 3 (SPOILER- PERFECTION)
Well the last option is, that the wetsuit simply fits perfectly and you will have the best session of your life. The wetsuit doesn’t cause any discomfort and you get every wave that comes your way. Life feels great and after countless amounts of waves you return to your car fully satisfied with your purchase :).
As you might have noticed, the first two scenarios have something in common. Yes, the starting point, but also the fact that the surfer ended up at the car park disappointed with his/her wetsuit purchase and the inability to return it as it was already used. That’s why at SRFACE, you get 30 days to surf & decide.

WHAT EXACTLY 30-DAY SURF & DECIDE IS?
At SRFACE, we are all surfers and we’ve been in all of the three scenarios at some points in our lives. Therefore, we decided to introduce our 30-Day Surf & Decide policy for all our neoprene and natural rubber products. After the wetsuit is delivered to your doorstep, you can take it for a try in the water. Hopefully, it will fit like a glove and you can enjoy the surf session to the fullest. However, if that will not be the case and you will not feel comfortable in your new SRFACE wetsuit while surfing, you can simply return it. If you are dedicated to owning a SRFACE wetsuit, you can also contact our team to see if your specific problem wouldn’t be solved by choosing a different size.
Once you return your undamaged wetsuit that didn’t quite fit, our team professionally cleans and inspects it. After that, we repack it and offer it in our Outlet as a refurbished wetsuit.
Buy. Surf. Decide. That’s how simple it is with SRFACE. Explore the wetsuit range now!
*To be able to return the wetsuit hassle free even after usage, keep in mind that the wetsuit has to be without any defects, damage, tears, or signs of heavy use.
