FAQ

To stay warm and safe in cold water, you’ll need a few key accessories. Neoprene boots (5–7mm) keep your feet warm and improve grip, while gloves (3–5mm) protect your hands from wind chill. A neoprene hood, either attached or separate, helps prevent heat loss through your head. Many winter surfers also use a thermal rash vest under their wetsuit for extra insulation. Cold-water surf wax is essential to maintain traction on your board.

Try it on, paddle out, cut back, get tubed. You can try any of our products for 30 days from the day you receive them. This post-purchase, risk-free 30 day trial serves as our return policy. If you decide your SRFACE wetsuit isn’t for you, return it in the original SRFACE packaging. Simply activate your return label We charge €5/£5/$5 per return to promote conscious consumption, minimising our collective carbon footprint. This amount will be deducted from your refund.

For winter conditions, most women choose either a 5/4mm or a 5/4mm hooded wetsuit, depending on water temperature and wind chill. A standard 5/4mm is ideal for waters around 8-10°C, while the hooded version offers extra warmth and is recommended for 4-10°C; perfect for mid-winter surf sessions across most of Europe.

Heat loss through the head can be significant, especially when duck diving, which is why the 5/4 hooded wetsuit is a popular go-to. For surfers tackling extreme cold, like subzero temperatures in northern Europe, Scotland, or Ireland, a 6/5mm or even 7mm wetsuit can provide the extra insulation needed. In these conditions, we strongly recommend pairing your wetsuit with neoprene accessories such as wetsuit boots, gloves, and possibly a hood if your suit doesn’t already include one.

Refurbished wetsuits are products that have been returned by customers during the trial period and cannot be sold as new. Each piece is professionally cleaned and fully inspected to meet SRFACE quality standards before being resold at a 10% discount. Refurbished wetsuits are subject to the same return policy and warranty as new ones, offering you peace of mind with your purchase. These items are clearly labeled and offer a more sustainable and budget-friendly option without compromising on performance.
