How to wash a wetsuit
Regular cleaning is one of the easiest ways to extend the lifespan of a wetsuit. After each surf session, it is recommended to rinse your wetsuit thoroughly with fresh water to remove salt, sand and other residues that can gradually affect the neoprene. For a deeper clean, a wetsuit cleaner can help remove odours, bacteria and build-up while preserving flexibility and overall performance. Always allow your wetsuit to dry in a shaded and well-ventilated area, as prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause neoprene to age more quickly.
How to repair a wetsuit
Small cuts, tears and damaged seams are a normal part of a wetsuit’s lifespan, especially after repeated exposure to stretching, salt water and everyday use. Repairing minor damage early can help prevent larger issues from developing while maintaining warmth, flexibility and overall performance. Many small repairs can be completed at home using neoprene glue, repair patches and seam reinforcement materials designed specifically for wetsuits. By addressing damage as soon as it appears, surfers can extend the life of their wetsuit and reduce unnecessary waste.
