FAQ's

FAQ

For winter conditions, most women choose either a 5/4mm or a 5/4mm hooded wetsuit, depending on water temperature and wind chill. A standard 5/4mm is ideal for waters around 8-10°C, while the hooded version offers extra warmth and is recommended for 4-10°C; perfect for mid-winter surf sessions across most of Europe.

Heat loss through the head can be significant, especially when duck diving, which is why the 5/4 hooded wetsuit is a popular go-to. For surfers tackling extreme cold, like subzero temperatures in northern Europe, Scotland, or Ireland, a 6/5mm or even 7mm wetsuit can provide the extra insulation needed. In these conditions, we strongly recommend pairing your wetsuit with neoprene accessories such as wetsuit boots, gloves, and possibly a hood if your suit doesn’t already include one.

Input your body height, weight, chest and waist size into our wetsuit Size Finder and we’ll recommend the perfect women’s wetsuit size. Sizes are body sizes, not garment dimensions. If you have multiple matches in the Size Finder, choose the smaller size for a snug fit and less water entry, or the bigger size for more comfort and getting in and out of your wetsuit easier. All body types are different, the size chart is a guideline only. Not sure which women’s wetsuit size to choose? Contact our customer support through web chat. Measuring tips:

  • Body height- Measure your height in a straight line from flat ground to the top of your head.
  • Chest size- Measure around the widest part of your chest, just under your armpits at the nipple line.
  • Waist size- Measure around your waistline, just above your belly button and below your rib cage.
  • Hip size- Measure around your waist line below your belly button

Choose the Heat if you’re surfing in very cold and windy conditions. The smoothskin panels protect against windchill and the sealed seams make the wetsuit almost waterproof. Choose the Remix if you’re looking for a more all-round high quality wetsuit that performs well in all conditions. It will be a little colder than the Heat in windy conditions. However, it’s more flexible than the Heat and Yamamoto #40 neoprene is slightly warmer in normal surfing conditions than our regular limestone neoprene.
